The Route 66 Railfan Visitor Center & Mainline Viewing Area is located in Historic Downtown Pacific Missouri. The Center is located north the Union Pacific Jefferson City Subdivision at milepost 34.9 and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Cuba Subdivision at milepost 34.1. The Center is currently being constructed for railfanning and will host the 9.5' x 35' "Midwest Valley Modelers" HO Scale modular layout in the near future. Current features available in the Railfan Center include:

Historical Photos and Railroad Signage - Railroad Magazine Library - Indoor Bathroom
Drinks & Snacks - Railroad Videos - Ample Parking & a short walk to Pacific Station Plaza RR Park

Future additions will include an elevated viewing platform, live web cameras, a gift shop, scout merit badge training, birthday parties, railroad antiques, Civil War History and expanded food service. The Railfan Center is the Home of the "Route 66 Model Railroad Club" and its members will have an HO Layout in the Railfan Center. They will also re-construct a 30' x 87' N Scale layout that was once in the former "Augusta Station" in Augusta, Missouri and donated by David & Connie Senften, when a suitable future building is acquired or built to fit the original layout design.
